alrite, i know that i'm late with my entries again.
will try to fill you guys all up to the latest news of me.
27th September was the day for the Singapore F1 GP Race Day. wen with good buddy ZS. it was a hot sunny day & my new sunglasses comes in place. met ard 3+ at Hong Lim Market before walking over to Raffles Place area.
I would say the security system was superb, cos basically you need to show them the inside of your bag & go through scan. But this also is an hassle if you move in & out of the race area with the checks to be done again.
First up was the Aston Martin Asia Cup Race. As the name describes, its all Aston Martin-made cars. Managed to capture some of the car images that passed by. There isn't much spectators as majority were waiting for the actual race later that evening. After this race, we went to Haagen Das @ Esplanade to cool down the body. Probably alot of people also felt the heat, already there were people inside the shop & mostly from the crowd viewing the race as Esplanade was closed from public access.
Next up: Formula BMW Pacific Race. Initially both me & ZS tot that it was BMW cars racing. But in actual fact, its not & instead it was like a F1 type of car, but maybe its BMW engine. Although the engine was loud but it was still manageable. With the next race, Porsche Carrera Cup Asia Race, coming up, we decided to go take a look at the booths that were set up at Padang area.
I believe all the hot favourite constructor brands of F1 earned quite alot, especially from the merchandise. It was quite expensive for the merchandise & unless you are a fan of it, you can just skipped the booths. Some of the famous night spots, like Dbl-O was also there. Quite happening for the outfit of the waitresses. But as the drinks were costly, we skipped it also. There was 1 booth we came across which was very long queue. It was a booth which draws temporary tattoos. Design of it was quite interesting but think it was a very long queue, we dun bother to go for it.
Soon after we proceed back to where we were watching the other races earlier on. To our surprise, there was alot of people crowding the platform, all waiting for the drivers parade. Tried to take some photos but all were blurred. Think if next year I'm going again, I should get myself equipped with a DSLR. Being a Singaporean & know the mentality of people hogging of the places, we did the same too & skipped our dinner. I went to buy 2 bottles of drink to quench the thirst & ZS went to bought muffins to kill the hunger.
Soon after the warm-up race started. The roaring engines of the F1 cars were loud that I've to plug in my in-ear earphones. F1 is indeed fast & experiencing it live is more enjoyable & thrilling. Though there were a few accidents & not able to witness it was a pity. But at least managed to see McLaren's driver Hamilton to clinch the Singapore GP 2009 title.
After that went home straight as working the follow day. Next up: Batam trip!
